At Regal Processors Craigavon plant odour was escaping from the existing wastewater plant, which was resulting in odour complaints, Regal Processor made the decision to contain the odours by installing tank covers.

Project Scope

  • DPS began this project by firstly covering the balance tank in a GRP Tweed cover. This allowed Regal Processors to still have access to the hatches for the pumps and aerators removal.

  • Odour pipework was routed to the aeration tank, where an aerator was installed and connected to this odour pipe.

  • When the aerator operates it will draw odorous air from the balance tank and injects it into the aeration tank.

  • This both removes the odour and aerates the aeration tank. A temporary control panel was installed to control the aerator on a timed basis.
