About Mash Direct

Mash Direct required DPS to trial and design an activated sludge plant c/w water recycling to provide Grade 2 water to the factory and Grade 3 water to the farm.

Mash Direct is a farming and food production enterprise based in Comber, Co. Down, supplying vegetable and potato products to supermarkets and independant retailers across the UK and Ireland. As part of their production process, water is generated.

At present, Mash Direct have a pilot water treatment system installed onsite to treat this water. The treatment system includes a combination of aeration and sequencing batch reactors.

Project Scope

  • All civil and building works associated in installation to include all aspects shwoing on our design drawings, tank bases, structures and buildings, pipework, ducts, access platforms, storage areas and finishing works

  • New infrastructure, bunds and protection devics for failures overflows and environmental protection

  • Water recycling to include a UF plant, RO plant, UV system and booster sets to feed water back to the factory, farm and NI Water discharge location all monitoring, dosing and cleaning systems

  • All pipework, control valves, isolation valves and brackets

  • Three clarifiers
