Ultrascreen®
Tertiary Disc Filter System

Advanced wastewater filtration with minimal footprint, high flow capacity, and stainless steel durability.

What is Ultrascreen®?

Ultrascreen® is a high-performance disc filter system designed for efficient removal of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) in both municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. It uses a series of rotating microscreen discs mounted on a central shaft inside a stainless steel tank to achieve high flow rates of up to 40 m³/h per unit.

With a compact design and built-in self-cleaning system, Ultrascreen® provides a reliable, low-maintenance solution that can handle heavy solids loading without clogging or media degradation.

Benefits of Ultrascreen®

Durability

Robust Construction

Made entirely of stainless steel, Ultrascreen® resists wear, corrosion and degradation, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Adaptability

Customisable Settings

Adjustable speed and water depth let Ultrascreen® adapt to changing flow conditions for optimal performance.

Compact Design

Space-Efficient

Ultrascreen®'s compact design requires fewer units, making it ideal for installations with limited space.

Efficiency

High Flow Rates

Up to 40 m³/h flux rate, optimising solids removal while minimising unit footprint.

High Solids Handling

Manages High Solids

Capable of managing solids spikes up to 150 mg/l without clogging, Ultrascreen® provides reliable performance under challenging conditions.

Continuous Operation

Uninterrupted Filtration

With an integrated backwashing system, Ultrascreen® cleans without interrupting filtration, ensuring continuous operation.

Real-World Applications for Ultrascreen®

Municipal Wastewater Treatment

WWTP

Ultrascreen® ensures high-efficiency filtration of treated wastewater, enhancing discharge quality.

Industrial Effluent Treatment

Industrial Effluent Treatment

Ultrascreen® effectively treats high-solids industrial effluent, ensuring compliance with discharge standards and reducing environmental impact.

Stormwater Management

Storm Management

Ultrascreen® filters stormwater runoff, removing debris and sediments to improve water quality and prevent pollution.

Our DfMA Experience

DPS uses a DfMA approach to deliver Ultrascreen® systems that are fully assembled and tested off-site. This speeds up installation, reduces on-site risks, and lowers overall project costs while ensuring high build quality and minimal disruption on-site.

Ultrascreen® in Action at a Wastewater Treatment Plant

This video shows Ultrascreen® in operation at a municipal WWTP, delivering high-efficiency solids removal during tertiary filtration. Designed to manage variable flows and high TSS loads, it continuously filters effluent through precision microscreen discs. With low energy use, automatic backwashing and a compact footprint, it offers a reliable, low-maintenance solution for modern treatment needs.

Internal Backwash System Demonstration

This video highlights Ultrascreen®’s unique internal wash system in action. Using filtered effluent for cleaning, the system performs automatic backwashing without interrupting flow. This ensures continuous operation, prevents clogging and reduces manual maintenance, making it ideal for high-load applications in wastewater treatment.

Our trusted partner, Nuove Energie S.r.l have been designing industrial and civil wastewater treatment plants since their foundation in 1983, with over 2000 installations worldwide.

They are headquartered in Vicenza,  Italy, with their production facilities there covering over 30,000ft2, producing a range of filters for various markets.
