EPS projects nominated for 4 Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards 2012

On Friday 9th November a number of EPS projects will compete in the Excellence Awards 2012 within the Environmental Infrastructure Award category.
The Excellence Awards recognise the achievements of engineers and organisations who have demonstrated exceptional engineering skills and made a significant contribution to the engineering body of knowledge in Ireland in the past year.
The Environmental Infrastructure Award is for the management of a wastewater treatment plant or a drinking water treatment facility that demonstrates excellence in the performance of the infrastructure in terms of value for money, treatment performance or waste prevention.
The shortlisted entries in this category are as follows:
Ennis Water Treatment Plant
Clare County Council, Mott MacDonald, EPS
EPS was responsible for the design and build of the water treatment plant which caters for a throughput of 18,000m³/day. EPS currently operates the facility for Clare County Council.
Upgrade of Erne Valley Group Water Scheme
Cavan County Council, Erne Valley Group Water Scheme, Tobin Consulting Engineers
EPS was responsible for the design and construction of this plant and it is currently operated by EPS.
Tullamore Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sludge Treatment Centre
Offaly County Council, TJ O’Connor & Associates, EPS, SIAC
EPS designed, constructed and currently operates this treatment facility on behalf of Offaly County Council. Civil construction was carried out by our JV partner, SIAC Construction. Works include all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, automation and civil works. The design load of the plant is for 45,000PE biological treatment. It has an 80,000PE sludge treatment centre.
Waterford Wastewater Treatment Plant
Waterford City Council, Mott MacDonald, Anglian Water International
EPS was responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the mechanical/electrical/automation equipment for this wastewater treatment facility. The design capacity of the plant is for a population equivalent of 190,000PE.
EPS is delighted to be associated with these prestigious projects, of which the winner will be announced on November 9th at an awards ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin.
