It is important for us to offer the best whole-life solution to our customers. Being able to provide turnkey delivery of Nereda Package and Mini Plants – including factory build and pretesting, transport to site, assembly and process start up – will mean we can help water companies meet their present and future consents as efficiently as possible. In recent years we invested in our new, state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence for Design & Manufacture at our Group headquarters. This gives us the capacity and capability to offer our customers and clients across the water sector the highest standards of digital design, manufacture and factory testing in the delivery of their assets, including Nereda package plants. EPS is a proven force in the delivery of off-site DfMA solutions and this partnership builds on our standing in this specialist discipline. The delivery of smaller scale standardised package solutions in addition to larger scale Nereda installations has been on our radar since the very beginning of our relationship and signing of our initial licence agreement in 2013 with RHDHV. The potential and positive environmental impact is far greater when this technology is made available for smaller scale works

EPS forms Partnership with RHDHV for Turnkey Nereda Package Plants
EPS Group is pleased to announce that it has entered into a partnering arrangement with Royal HaskoningDHV for the supply of Nereda package plants for smaller works across the Irish and UK water sectors, serving up to 10,000 population equivalent. The arrangement, as one of three delivery partners for packaged Nereda, builds on our extensive experience in the design and delivery of full-scale Nereda wastewater treatment plants in Ireland and the UK since 2013.
The partnership will deliver a range of standardised package plants to select water sector customers, based on the award-winning Nereda granular activated sludge wastewater treatment technology. The plants have been designed to be manufactured, assembled and pre-tested off-site, which will drive improved cost efficiency, shorter delivery programmes and improved construction health and safety standards.
EPS brings a global market-leading background in delivering Nereda solutions to the table. The company designed, built and now operates three full-scale Nereda plants for Irish Water in Co. Cork in Ireland, including the 65,000 PE plant at Shanbally. In the UK, EPS provided the Nereda technology package on projects at Great Dunmow (Anglian Water), Inverurie (Scottish Water) and Dungannon (Northern Ireland Water), and the design of a second large-scale Nereda project in Scotland is approaching completion.
EPS also has a strong track record in the design and manufacture of Nereda pilot plants. This includes the provision of units for pilot trials at Ringsend WwTP (Dublin), Duncrue Street (Belfast) and Newmarket (Anglian Water), as well as exports to North America and Manila in the Philippines to further promote the rollout of the technology in these regions.
This marks a further significant step on the EPS journey with Nereda and follows up on the successes we’ve realised under our Nereda licence in Ireland and our projects to date in the UK. We look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship with Royal HaskoningDHV and our water company clients and Tier 1 partners in bringing this new iteration of a proven and sustainable technology to fruition.

With the new AMP 7 phosphorus consent challenges, the timing was right to introduce the Nereda Package Plants. The alternative of continued dependency on high levels of chemical dosing for years to come is simply not sustainable. Our Nereda technology provides chemical-free phosphorus removal. We are offering a new delivery model too and have partnered with three leading specialist contractors to ensure fast, efficient and safe delivery to all water companies
